Who is Sakura Hattori?

SAKURA HATTORI debuted in Texas Stampede

Sakura Hattori made her debut at TJPW Texas Stampede in Austin, appearing on both 3/17 and 3/18 in part of SXSW event. What emerged was not just a new persona, but something entirely different.

Her movements and techniques bore no resemblance to her former identity as Toribami. With calm precision and sudden bursts of speed, Hattori displays a style rooted in discipline, control, and mystery — unmistakably that of a ninja.

At the center of her arsenal is Kuji-kiri, an ancient sequence of nine hand seals used to focus the mind and channel inner power.

Sakura Hattori has arrived. And this is only the beginning.

....and what happened to Kaya Toribami?

Among the wrestlers appearing at TJPW Texas Stampede, only one competitor hides her identity — Sakura Hattori.

While we do not know who she is, the name Hattori immediately calls to mind Hanzo Hattori, the legendary ninja from the late 1500s who came from Iga, Japan’s historic ninja region in Mie Prefecture.

That connection made us look twice when we came across what appears to be recovered footage of Kaya Toribami, one of TJPW’s masked wrestlers, recently traveling to Iga. In the video, she meets a mysterious dojo master who seems to teach ninjutsu — the ancient techniques of the ninja.

Near the end of the footage, Toribami discovers a ninja face guard in an old shrine. After putting it on, she appears… different.

A coincidence?

Or the beginning of Sakura Hattori?
